How to use beard balm the right way

Your beard balm routine

Prepare your beard

Prepare your beard

Make sure your beard is clean and slightly dry before applying. Best used after showering or washing.

Apply beard balm

Apply beard balm

Rub a small amount between your fingers, then work it evenly into your beard. It nourishes the hair and adds structure and light hold.

Shape your beard

Shape your beard

Use your fingers or a comb to shape your beard for a well-groomed, defined look.

Which beard balm is right for you?

Both beard balms offer the same care and light hold – simply choose the scent that suits you best.

With beard balm, you combine care and light hold in one step. Its creamy texture softens stray hairs, provides moisture and leaves a well-groomed finish without a greasy shine.

Handmade in Bavaria, Germany, using 100% natural ingredients, beeswax from a small local beehive and dermatologically tested.

Which beard balm is right for you?

The main difference comes down to scent.

Our bestselling “Verbena” beard balm has a fresh, slightly tart citrus scent and is perfect for everyday use. Its soft, honey-like texture means a pea-sized amount is enough, even for a full beard.

For colder months, we offer Cedarwood & Sandalwood as a special edition – warmer, woodier and more subtle in character.

If you already know your favorite scent and use balm daily, the Verbena value pack (3x60ml) is the best choice.

Beard balm vs. beard oil

One of the most common questions: do you need balm, oil or both?

The answer: they do different things.

Beard oil is lightweight and absorbs quickly into the skin and hair roots, providing deep nourishment where the beard grows.

Beard balm sits on the hair, smooths flyaways and adds light hold.

For short stubble, beard oil alone is usually enough. Once your beard reaches a few centimeters in length, adding balm makes a big difference – typically applied after oil.

For stronger hold or more defined styling, you can combine both with moustache wax or beard pomade.

What makes a good beard balm?

Nothing unnecessary.

Our beard balm is based on organic jojoba oil, shea butter and beeswax from a local beehive. Essential oils like verbena, bergamot and lavender create its signature scent.

Free from silicones, parabens and microplastics.

The result: a formula that is dermatologically tested, based on natural ingredients and suitable for daily use.

Note for vegans: due to the beeswax, the balm is not vegan. As a plant-based alternative, we recommend our beard oil.

How to use beard balm

Warm a small amount between your palms until it softens. Apply evenly to a dry or slightly damp beard, from roots to tips.

Use a beard brush or your fingers to shape your beard.

Two to three times per week is usually enough, or daily for longer beards.
