The right products depend mainly on your beard length and skin type. For short stubble, a good beard oil is usually enough – it softens the hair and nourishes the skin. Once your beard grows longer, a beard balm helps smooth stray hairs and keeps your beard looking neat without making it stiff. For full beards that tend to grow in all directions, pomade provides additional hold and structure.
If you have dry skin or a coarse beard, our beard cream with aloe vera, panthenol and ectoin is a matte alternative to oil and balm. And if you’re just getting started, a beard care set is the easiest way to cover all the basics.
Beard oil or beard balm?
One of the most common questions. The short answer: both have their place – and many use them together.
Beard oil absorbs quickly, nourishes the skin down to the roots and gives your beard a natural shine. Our oils are vegan and based on organic jojoba oil and essential oils.
Beard balm has a soft, honey-like texture. It nourishes the beard while providing light hold and control. It contains beeswax sourced from a local beehive, which is why it is not vegan – something we communicate openly.
A simple routine: use beard oil for skin care, then add balm if you want to shape your beard. For stronger hold, use a beard pomade. For moustache styling, a firm moustache wax works best.
Why natural beard care makes a difference
The skin underneath your beard is more sensitive than your scalp. Regular shampoo or shower gel can dry it out, leading to itchiness and beard dandruff.
That’s why you should use a mild beard shampoo that cleanses without stripping away natural oils. Washing your beard two to three times per week is usually enough.
