Which pomade is right for you
At the moment, we offer one pomade, intentionally designed as a versatile product for both hair and beard. It works just as well on head hair as it does on longer beards from around three to five centimeters in length.
For hair, it reliably shapes classic styles such as pompadours, slick backs, quiffs, or side parts. In the beard, it tames flyaway hairs and gives fuller beards more structure.
The hold is on the stronger side, comparable to a classic barbershop wax pomade, but without becoming stiff like hair gel.
Anyone already familiar with the Eisenkraut fragrance and using the pomade daily will probably choose the 3-pack value set later on. My recommendation for beginners: start with the 60 ml tin. Pomade vs. gel vs. wax
The most common question before buying is: pomade or gel?
Both provide hold, but they behave very differently.
Hair gel dries hard and brittle in the hair, and after a few hours the hairstyle often starts to crack or lose flexibility. Our pomade stays workable throughout the day. One quick pass with the comb and the look is back in shape.
Instead of creating a hard shell, it leaves a subtle, natural shine.
Compared to traditional hair wax, our pomade does not sit on the surface as a rigid layer that breaks apart when combed again. It stays smooth and flexible, making it easier to work into thicker beards in particular.
If you need even stronger hold for waxed moustache tips or a handlebar moustache, our Moustache Wax is the right addition.
If you are looking purely for care without hold, Beard Oil Eisenkraut and Beard Balm are the better choice.
What makes a good pomade
Our formula is wax-based, not water-based.
Beeswax from the Chiemgau region forms the foundation, combined with nourishing oils and essential oils of lemon verbena, bergamot, and lavender for the signature Eisenkraut fragrance.
No silicones. No parabens. No microplastics. No aluminum.
We have been handcrafting our products in small batches since 2015.
Wax-based pomades require a little more than water alone to wash out. We recommend using our Beard Soap Eisenkraut or a mild shampoo. Lather briefly, rinse, done.
How to use pomade
Rub a pea-sized amount between your palms until the pomade becomes warm and soft.
For hair, work it into towel-dried or slightly damp hair and shape it with a comb.
For the beard, knead it into the dry beard from the roots to the tips, then smooth it out using your fingers or a beard brush.
For most applications, using it once daily after washing is enough. On days with more elaborate styling, a second application can be useful if needed.
With fine hair, less is often more. Even half a pea-sized amount can be enough. Otherwise, the hair may quickly become flat.
